Sylvain Chomet

Four-time Oscar nominated and BAFTA winner, Sylvain Chomet, is a British man’s Frenchman: he loves a gin, self-depreciating humour and manages to poke more fun at the French than the Brits.

Sylvain’s work spans movies, commercials, music videos and printed pages too. And whatever it is he applies his craft to, there’s a good chance it’ll remain with you long after ‘fin’.

His past films include ‘The Old Lady and the Pigeons’, it’s feature follow up ‘The Triplets of Belleville’, ‘Paris, je t’aime’, the unmade Jacques Tati- script which became the animated feature 'The Illusionist', and surreal movie ‘Attila Marcel’. Totaling 36 major wins and 68 nominations globally.

In the short form world, Sylvain has recently given The Simpsons opening sequence a French makeover, directed a Francis Bacon-inspired campaign for Amnesty International and put his quill to the beat of Stromae track ‘Carmen’. Sylvain’s latest short ‘Merci Monsieur Imada’ is currently nicking all the awards on the short film festival circuit.

Though Sylvain’s work is alluring and charming, deep down we know he is as Dirty as they get.

Sylvain is represented by Dirty Films for all live action and mixed-media projects.
